Marty Nelson
Senior Pastor
Pastor Marty has served as Senior Pastor of North Canton Baptist Church since May of 2022. In his own words "I believe God can save anybody no matter what they have done. The simple and most generic answer is because His Holy Word tells us over and over again that if you BELIEVE you can be saved. The reason I believe it first and foremost is because He saved a no good sinner like me. I am so thankful for the grace of God that we get in salvation and the mercy we get each day after. I believe if we as Christians would just follow the two simple commandments the Lord gave us which are "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’" Everything else would take care of itself. We are in a time where the world needs the church to be the church and it starts with following those two commandments. Once we do that the church will become the unified church that Jesus so desperately wants us to be. Jesus prayed to His Father “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one". The lost world is going to know that the gospel is true, that God is true and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world only by the unity of the church. That's what I desperately pray that God does is unify His church, starting right here with this Church."
